In the copier room, Rachel and Donna reconcile after their fight in the previous episode. Louis insists however that he is not looking for a temporary superficial relationship, but someone he can truly mentor and would accompany him to activities such as going to the gun range, mudding or an origami festival, prompting an amused Harvey to respond that he will meet the right person to mentor. In a further effort to console Louis, Harvey suggests that the former take on a "rebound" associate, something he claims he had done after previously firing Mike. Harvey insists he is only here to give Louis files regarding Hessington Oil, since Louis would be the best person to tackle their legal issues with Tony Gisnopoloud orchestrating a takeover, something which Harvey openly admits to please Louis. Louis returns to his office to find Harvey waiting for him, and without Harvey saying anything, Louis tells him he does not accept any apology that Harvey has prepared for going back on his word that he would allow Louis to make Mike his associate. Mike attempts to apologize to Louis for agreeing to be his associate but then going back to Harvey, but the latter is still upset with him. Rachel and Mike are discussing their dating plans in the pantry, when Louis walks in and throws a bran bar Mike reached for into the trash, and coldly says as the new quarter master he has forbidden all first year associates to consume the bran bars.
